Museum

Located next to the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and the Museu da Marinha, the Calouste Gulbenkian Planetarium began operating in 1965, in the building that was designed by the architect Frederico George.

In the planetarium it is possible to watch projections concerning the subjects of astrophysics and exploration of space, in a whole recreation of the night sky with explanations of the movement of the stars and the solar system, of the constellations and revealing the mysteries of the Cosmos.

At the Planetário Calouste Gulbenkian you can also find a small specialized library that accepts previously scheduled visits.
