Experiência Pilar 7 - Ponte 25 de Abril

In commemoration of World Tourism Day, a new lookout point was opened on 27 September 2017 in Lisbon, located at 25 de Abril Bridge, in Alcântara. With access through the Avenida da Índia, this belvedere allows a privileged view of Lisbon to the other shore.

Here it is possible to visit the Interpretive Center of the 25 de Abril Bridge, where the history and purpose of the bridge are explained in the Hall of Mirrors and the Workers Room with small 360º films projection. At the end of the visit, after the descent, a virtual reality simulator is available, which allows the visitor to follow a bridge maintenance team.

The "Pilar 7 Experience" allows you to visit inside and outside one of the pillars of the bridge, as well as the climb to the top of this pillar, at the level of the road board at 80 meters high, through a panoramic lift. This visit is not, however, recommended for those who suffer from vertigo since both the balcony and the walls are made of glass.
