Miradouro da Graça

Viewpoint

The official name for this lookout point is Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, a poet who was often seen sitting in this spot, admiring Lisbon and composing her poems. You can even see a bust and plaque here celebrating her life. When you perch at this scenic spot, you will understand why she found the vista so poetically inspiring.

Located on Santo Andre Hill, this vantage point gives you a view of the old neighbourhoods of Lisbon including Alfama, Mouraria and the downtown area. You can even see the castle and the 25th April Bridge. Relax in the shaded cobbled square surrounded by pine trees and look out over the hills and rooftops.

You can also visit the Graça Church, which is one of the oldest in the city - built in 1271. It’s gorgeous and elaborate Baroque interior is decorated with 17th century tiles that create a dazzling effect.
