The National Theatre of Saint Charles is a gorgeous opera house in Lisbon, a must-see for any culture lover who visits this Portuguese city. The elegant building was opened in 1793 by Queen Maria I and it is located in the historic Chiado district in the heart of Lisbon.
The interior of the theatre is absolutely breath taking, decorated with gilded rococo details and paintings on the ceiling by Manuel da Costa. In the center of the ceiling there is a huge dazzling chandelier.
